  1. hi, I was thinking about buying this 30 yr old echo weedeater. The guy said that it had a leak around the carb. Any ideas as to what could cause that?

  2. could be the fuel lines and the carb kit

  3. Great job on your videos. My Weedeater starts just fine and idles fine. The problem is when I give it some gas, it just putters out dies on me. I’ll start it up again and it will putter out again, and just gets worse. Any hints that would steer me in the right direction? Thanks!

  4. try adjusting the carb, if that doesn’t work get a new carb kit and maybe replace the fuel lines

  5. Hello, I have a 2 year old weed eater that has barely been used. We left it sitting around for about a year and now it won’t run for very long. I change the spark plug and the gas/oil. It starts for a short while if I pump the gas bulb a few times, but it seems that the carb isn’t feeding it gas because it dies rather quickly after that (restarts when I use the gas bulb again). Do you think this is the case?Is it possible to just drunk the carb in a cleaning solution without taking it apart?

  6. you might try adjusting the carb and if that doesn’t do it you should replace the carb kit, i have videos that show how to do this

  7. @conflustered i think mowers4u dot com has those kits

  8. why must you call it a grass trimmer

  9. also check for broke fuel lines. Great Vids donyboy73, thank you

  10. all the fuel mixture leaks out of my Troy-Bilt trimmer through the muffler? If the fuel line has a hole I cna’t see it.

  11. the weed trimmer i purchased from homelite only worked twice before it stopped working. i contacted the company and informed them the authorized dealer said the carb, spark plug and fuel line needed to be replaced. after stalling around for two months they refused to pay for the repairs. brand new…used twice…these people are thieves and should be avoided by anyone wanting quality products.

  12. contact the BBB

  13. thank you donyboy, that is a real good suggestion
